The City of Melrose is a member of "Sister Cities International" and is a sister city of Legden, Germany.

In addition, the city of Buhl, Germany has a great Student Exchange Program with Melrose High School. Each year the German class at the Melrose Area High School and the Buhl High School travel to each other's country to learn more about each other's country and city cultures.
