Mayor's Message

Welcome to the City of Melrose!  We are very proud of our community for several reasons.  Melrose is a beautiful place to live with Big and Little Birch Lakes, Lake Sylvia, and other surrounding lakes.  Melrose sits on the banks of the Sauk River, the Lake Wobegon Trail system, and the I-94 corridor.  Melrose is centrally located between Alexandria and St. Cloud, MN.

Melrose has three parks, two churches, and a lively downtown.  We have an excellent K - 12 public school system as well as an excellent K - 6 private school system.

Our state of the art hospital and medical clinic, along with our other medical services such as a pharmacy, dentist, orthodontist, chiropractor, optometrist and assisted living facilities, are second to none.

We have a very active Historical Society and Arts and Theater in the High School and community.

Melrose has several large industries such as Melrose Dairy Proteins, Jennie-O Turkey Store, and Stearns Electric Association.  Melrose is also the host city for the ever expanding Central Minnesota Federal Credit Union.  Other industries such as Carstens Industries manufactures duck boats for Cabela's.

I hope you enjoy your stay in Melrose, and if you are seeking a more permanent stay, Melrose has several housing developments.  For the business savvy, Melrose has an Industrial Park located just off of I-94, with the first building being completed in Fall 2005.

Thank you for visiting our website and don't forget to contact our local Chamber of Commerce for annual events and activities.

Respectfully,

Mayor Eric Seanger

We hope you enjoy your stay in the Melrose area!
