At last night’s City Council meeting we welcomed this year’s group of students, and their teachers, from Buhl, Germany for the Student Exchange Program with Melrose High School. Each year the German class at the Melrose Area High School and the Buhl High School travel to each other's country to learn more about each other's country and city cultures. Welcome to Melrose! We hope you enjoy your time with us.

We’re here — to keep you safe. Winter weather is more than capable of bringing down power lines and utility poles. When storms cause damage, local crews can respond in minutes and keep our community safe. Reminder: If you encounter a downed line, be sure to stay at least 30 feet back. #Reliability #SafetyTips

Generators are useful during power outages but must be used safely to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, electrical shocks, or fires. Always use them outdoors, at least 20 feet from windows and doors, keep them dry, and let them cool before refueling. Install carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home for added safety. #SafetyTips #WinterReady
