Sidewalks
Duty of owners and occupants. The owner and the occupant of any property adjacent to a public sidewalk shall use diligence to keep the walk safe for pedestrians in accordance with this chapter and the city’s sidewalk improvement program. No owner or occupant shall allow snow, ice, dirt, or rubbish to remain on the walk longer than 24 hours after its deposit thereon.

The city warns that plowing or shoveling snow from your driveway or sidewalk onto a public road, pushed across a public road, or dumped onto a public road right of way causes a real hazard and is against the law. Snow piles that are pushed across the road or dumped into the road right of way can cause drifting and unsafe conditions for drivers. It also can cause serious damage to snowplow equipment when hitting compacted and frozen snow deposited into the road right of way.

We're clearing out some old utility poles. They are AS IS and First Come, First Serve Basis. We have approximately 40 and they are 30 – 35 ft long. YOU MUST HAUL THEM AWAY. They are heavy and require a truck/trailer and appropriate safety gear for transport. Line Department Staff will be available to assist in loading. The poles are located at the City’s well field No. 7 on County Road 173.
